On April 6, 2023, a meeting of the expert group was held in Minsk at the premises of Eximgarant of Belarus to review internal regulatory documents for the establishment of the Eurasian Reinsurance Company (Eurasia Re).
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Eximgarant of Belarus, Belarus Re (Republic of Belarus), Export Insurance Agency of Armenia ICJSC (Republic of Armenia), JSC EXIAR (Russian Federation), JSC EIC KazakhExport (Republic of Kazakhstan).
The meeting was opened by Henadzi Mitskevich, General Director of Eximgarant of Belarus. The head of the ECA of Belarus outlined the key tasks of the expert group, and also emphasized the importance of holding an in-person event to achieve the set goals.
Volha Tarasevich, General Director of Belarus Re, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. She emphasized that when discussing documents, it is necessary to maintain a balance of interests of the Eurasia Re participants in forming an investment portfolio and in accepting risks among the member states of the company in proportion to the shares of participation in the authorized capital of the supranational organization being created.
The parties reached an agreement to intensify work and inform the parties about the status of ratification of the Agreement on the establishment of the Eurasia Re, and a work plan for the expert subgroup was prepared.
