On September 12-13, 2024, a meeting of representatives of the ECAs of the countries participating in the Eurasian Economic Union was held in the Eximgarant of Belarus office in Minsk. The event was organized within the framework of the signed quadripartite Memorandum of Cooperation between the ECAs of the EAEU and the agreement reached in May 2024 by the heads of the Union agencies.
The meeting was attended by experts from the Export credit agency of Kazakhstan JSC (Republic of Kazakhstan), the State Insurance Organization OJSC (Kyrgyz Republic), Eximgarant of Belarus (Republic of Belarus), and EXIAR JSC (Russian Federation).
The State Insurance Organization OJSC was designated as the national operator for export risk insurance by the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic dated March 20, 2024.
Export insurance company "KazakhExport", being the National Institute for the Development and Promotion of Non-Resource Exports, received the status of "Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan" in accordance with the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan in April 2024. New services have been added to the existing ones (insurance and reinsurance, pre-export and export trade financing): guaranteeing export transactions and subsidizing interest rates on trade financing. The agency's activities are regulated by the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan.
The meeting participants discussed the current export support systems in the EAEU countries, changes in the legislation of countries in the field of export credit insurance, underwriting issues, procedures for assessing and transferring risks to reinsurance, as well as insurance support for critical imports.
