Eximgarant of Belarus took part in the XX Belarusian-Polish Economic Forum “Neighborhood”

On the 24th October 2016 the IV Meeting of the Joint Belarusian-Polish Commission on economic cooperation took place in Minsk.

The Meeting was chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Rusyi and the Vice Prime Minister — Minister of Development and Finance of the Republic of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki.

The results reported for the year of 2015 showed that Poland took the 7th position in the rating of countries investing into Belarusian economy. According to Mikhail Rusyi the volume of direct Polish investment would exceed USD 200 million for later this year, and the trade turnover could possibly reach USD 4 billion in the next 2-3 years.

In the framework of the Meeting the Director General of Eximgarant of Belarus Gennady Mitskevich and the Vice-President of the Management Board of KUKE Piotr Stolarczyk discussed possible ways of cooperation in the field of finance and insurance.

On the same day in the course of the Meeting of the Commission there was XX Belarusian-Polish Economic Forum “Neighborhood” held, which put together about 500 participants from Belarusian and Polish business entities, state administration bodies, diplomatic missions, business associations.

The Forum was opened by the Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich, the Vice Prime Minister — Minister of Development and Finance of the Republic of Poland Mateusz Moravecki, the Chairman of the Belarusian

Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Ulahovich and the Chairman of the Polish-Belarusian Chamber of Commerce Kazimierz Zdunovski.

The Forum was operating under several subject-related sections. In the framework of “Creating a favorable investment climate. Benefits and risks” section the Director General of Eximgarant of Belarus Gennady Mitskevich gave a speech, in which he informed the participants about the new opportunities of ECA regarding the inter-country trade turnover increase. He also mentioned that there were long-term business relations established between Eximgarant and KUKE. The topic of investment support was more specifically addressed by the Deputy Head of Export Insurance Division of Eximgarant of Belarus Andrei Sakovich.
