On the 14th September 2016 in the framework of the Finnish-Belarusian business forum the visit of the Finnish delegation headed by the Deputy State Secretary for External Economic Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Finland Matti Anttonen took place. The delegation also included representatives of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Finland, the EBRD and business community.
During the visit there was a meeting held within the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus. On behalf of Finnish delegation the discussion was supported by the Senior Advisor of FINNVERA Outti Homanen, the Responsible Executive of the Ministry of International Affairs Sofia Inkeri Virtanen and the Director of the EBRD Representative Office in Finland Johannes Koskinen. On behalf of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus the meeting was attended by the Head of the Main Division of Budget Policy Elena Pechen, the Deputy Head of Financing Division of the Main Division of Public Debt Tatyana Masyuk, the Deputy Head of the Main Division of International Finance Victoria Shilovich. Eximgarant was represented by the Head of International Cooperation Division Polina Brovka and the Head of International Business Development Department Ilya Sakhar.
In the course of the meeting the representatives of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus described the national development prospects, the results of the budget execution that the bodies of the general government sector reached during the year of 2016, as well as introduced some details on the budgeting policy planned for 2017, the outlook for the cooperation with the EBRD and the progress achieved during the implementation of IMF programme. At the same time, Eximgarant presented the visitors the information regarding new insurance products for the purpose of their inculcating in cooperation with Finnish ECA — FINNVERA while performing investment projects to Belarus.
The representatives of Finnish delegation showed interest in extending the means of cooperation in terms of carrying out joint projects in agriculture, energy and environmental management while implementing insurance services offered by Eximgarant.
Besides, Eximgarant noted its interest in rendering insurance services when performing investment programmes in the territory of the Republic of Belarus featuring Finnish companies and banks.
